Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning Details

Purpose:

To prepare the home for new occupants by performing a top-to-bottom cleaning of all interior spaces, removing dust, debris, and buildup left behind by previous residents or construction/renovation.

General Areas (All Rooms)

• Remove all cobwebs and dust from reachable ceilings, corners, and light fixtures (using a 2-foot ladder maximum)
• Dust and wipe down baseboards, trim, doors, door frames, and window sills
• Clean interior windows and glass doors (reachable height only)
• Wipe down walls and spot clean scuff marks (as safely possible)
• Clean light switches, electrical outlets, and vent covers
• Clean inside and outside of closets, shelves, and built-ins
• Wipe down all interior doors and handles
• Clean floor surfaces — vacuum and mop all hard floors, and vacuum carpets/rugs
• Remove any remaining debris or trash

Bathrooms

• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, and vanities
• Clean mirrors and glass surfaces
• Scrub and sanitize showers, tubs, tile walls, and fixtures
• Clean and disinfect toilets (inside, outside, and base)
• Wipe and sanitize cabinet interiors and exteriors
• Polish chrome fixtures
• Mop and disinfect floors
• Remove soap scum, mildew, and hard water buildup where applicabled degrease filter (if removable and reachable)
• Mop/vacuum floor thoroughly

Bedrooms / Living Areas

• Dust and wipe all surfaces, including shelves and furniture that remain
• Clean inside closets and shelving
• Clean reachable interior window glass and sills
• Vacuum and/or mop floors
• Wipe light fixtures and ceiling fans within safe reach

Laundry / Utility Areas

• Wipe down washer and dryer (exterior and reachable interior areas)
• Clean inside and outside of cabinets and shelving
• Clean and sanitize utility sink (if present)
• Sweep and mop floor

Final Touches

• Perform a final walk-through to ensure no detail is missed
• Empty trash and replace liners (if provided by client)
• Leave home clean, sanitized, and ready for occupancy
