Effective date: November 9, 2025
Who we are: The Dust, LLC (βwe,β βus,β βourβ) provides residential cleaning services in Michigan. This page explains how we handle personal information, how we protect clients and staff in the home, and how billing works.
This policy covers personal information we collect through our website, phone/text/email, scheduling tools, and during service visits. We may update this page; material changes will be dated above.
We share personal information only as needed to run our business:
We keep information only as long as needed for service, business records, legal or tax requirements, or to resolve disputes. When retention ends, we delete or de-identify data.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information (role-based access, staff training, limited use of entry details, and reputable third-party payment processing). No system is perfectly secure; risks remain whenever information is transmitted or stored.
You can opt out of marketing emails or texts at any time (unsubscribe links or replying STOP for SMS). Service-related notices (appointment changes, invoices) may still be sent.
Our services and site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Privacy rights vary by state (for example, access, deletion, correction, and opt-out rights). If you are a U.S. resident seeking to exercise a privacy right available in your state, contact us using the information below. We will verify your request and respond as required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Questions or requests about privacy: use our website contact form or the office phone number listed there, or email privacy@thedust.llc.
All employees and approved contractors sign confidentiality agreements. Information observed in the home (conversations, routines, possessions) is treated as confidential and used only to perform services.
We conduct pre-employment background checks, confirm work authorization where required, and perform periodic re-screens, consistent with applicable law. We train teams on professional in-home conduct and respectful communication.
Provide only the access needed for a visit. Keys are labeled without addresses; codes are stored in restricted systems. Tell us promptly if access details change. We follow client alarm procedures provided to us.
To protect people and property:
For everyoneβs comfort, please inform us if interior cameras are active. Cameras are not permitted in bathrooms or other private areas while we are present.
To protect our training investment and scheduling commitments, clients agree not to directly hire our staff for residential cleaning during services and for 12 months after the last visit without our written consent. (Your service agreement may provide additional terms.)
Estimates are based on the information you provide and our professional judgment. If the homeβs condition or scope differs materially on arrival, we will confirm options before proceeding.
Payment is due after service. Charges are processed by our office through our payment processor; field staff do not collect payments. A card on file may be required to reserve or continue recurring service. Receipts are emailed.
Please provide at least 24 hoursβ notice to cancel or reschedule. Same-day cancellations, missed appointments, or lockouts may incur a fee to cover reserved crew time.
If something was missed, tell us within 24 hours. We will return to address reasonable concerns promptly. Refunds are uncommon and evaluated case-by-case.
Report issues within 24 hours. Our responsibility is limited to repair or replacement at our option, considering depreciation and availability. We are not responsible for pre-existing wear, improper installation, unstable fixtures, or items not disclosed as fragile.
Gratuities are never expected. If you choose to tip, it goes 100% to the team.
Unpaid balances may incur late fees or collection activity as permitted by law. We reserve the right to suspend service for non-payment.
We may update these policies to reflect operational, legal, or security changes. Updates will be posted with a new effective date.
